At the iconic Dreischeibenhaus in Düsseldorf, we design and build a work environment that bridges the gap between industrial architecture and human experience. On two floors of this modernist high-rise monument, a dynamic landscape of natural materials unfolds, with a sculptural staircase as the connecting heart. Layers of water, clay and wood create a space that not only functions, but also connects — a warm invitation to collaborate, meet and grow.
Plot
Kearney's DACH headquarters are located on the 20e and 21e floor of the Dreischeibenhaus in Düsseldorf. A masterpiece of post-war modernism, this high-rise 1960 icon stands out for its slim 1:11 ratio, three staggered volumes, and open skeletal structure. The hard materials aluminium, glass and steel are characteristic. The building symbolises progress and today forms a powerful backdrop for contemporary transformation.
Characters
The head office is home to more than 150 employees. In addition, the office plays an important role as an international business card and base for customers and colleagues from around the world. The challenge lies in bringing the workplace back to life: creating an environment that invites employees back, where communication and connection come naturally, and where there is room to work together, meet and grow.
Storyline - A dynamic landscape to work in
To create a place that invites and connects, we bring soft materials into dialogue with tough, industrial architecture. In the steel skeleton of this modernist office behemoth, a dynamic landscape of wood and natural textures unfolds. This forms a warm layer that involves rest, rhythm and movement. At the center of this landscape, an internal staircase cuts through the space: A sculptural intervention that connects floors and forms the heart of the new work environment.

A landscape is not a fixed form, but a layered composition that unfolds slowly. The same layered structure forms the foundation of the design, in which materials carefully come together to connect atmosphere and function.
01 Water — reflective and silent, it captures the environment and lets the other layers float slightly.
02 Clay — warm and earthy, it gives the landscape depth and is the breeding ground for growth.
03 Wood — an inviting, living material that naturally connects functions and brings harmony to the space.
