Overzicht

Provalu is a connection center for partners and employers, and is committed to achieving sustainable employment relationships by bridging the distance between motivated employees and employers. Mirato was selected to tackle outdated housing and create a new work environment that transforms Provalu's vision of “added value through work” into design.

Issue

Our biggest challenge was to create an inclusive design that would bridge the gap between office workers and production workers. In the current situation, everyone has their own entrance, while it is desirable to connect with each other. Provalu's ambition was to stimulate creativity and facilitate space for encounters and cross-pollination.

Concept

“Connection” was our guideline during the design. You can already feel this at the entrance; where we designed an extension that allows everyone to enter a glass atrium through the same door. We connect inside with outside by extending an awning paneled with local wood from outside to inside. This shows you the way into the building. We create openness and transparency by breaking through the architectural façade, making open routing through the building possible. The connection is made to the bottom and top by means of a wide open staircase.

Design

Our goal was to create a warm, informal and inviting space with a sustainable character. Organic shapes, lots of greenery and light, low-stimulus workplaces create a pleasant and inclusive work environment. The lunch room has been transformed into the building's' garden '. Material and atmosphere flow from the outside to the inside. This is the place where people come together, eat and drink, and where the neighborhood is also welcome. This is how we connect with the environment, and Provalu is accessible to everyone.
